Course/Module description:
Introduction to items in the Financial Statements, registration of Journal Entry for common accounting events, and preparation of Financial Statements.

Course/Module aims:
Introduction to items in the Financial Statements, registration of Journal Entry for common accounting events, and preparation of Financial Statements.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Register basic Journal Entry for common accounting events; Correct mistakes in the account books; Register Journal Entries needed for the date of the financial statements; Know how to deal with accounting issues regarding the subjects learned in the course (see Course Content); Prepare Financial Statements (a statement of financial position, a statement of profit or loss, a statement of changes in equity).

3. Reconciliation with third parties (Banks)
4. Property, Plant and Equipment – IAS 16
5. Inventories – IAS 2 (including allocation of production overheads)
6. Loans
7. Time value of money – discounted cash flows
8. Bonds
9. Equity
10. Preparation of Financial Statements
