Course/Module description:
The Colloquium is the gathering of the European Forum’s community of researchers and scholars, students and faculty. It is also a course that brings an introduction to cutting-edge research on a variety of issues pertaining to contemporary Europe. During the year, the Colloquium shall host researchers – both visiting colleagues and members of the European Forum – to lecture about their groundbreaking studies. Topics of such lectures shall reflect the variety of economic, political, cultural and other process occurring and experienced in contemporary Europe. The selection of lectures shall also reflect the multidisciplinary and interdisciplinary character of the European Forum, while emphasizing contemporary era, historical and comparative perspectives, and relevance for policy and social action.
Course/Module aims:
Course is intended to introduce frontier research on matters pertaining to contemporary Europe. The goals are: to introduce researchers leading the way in the study of contemporary European affairs; to expand horizons of variety of issues pertaining to contemporary Europe, variety of research methods, and variety of disciplinary perspectives; and, to develop critical-academic attitude in regard to ground-breaking research on contemporary European affairs.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
- Acquaintance with leading researchers and scholars of contemporary European affairs;
- Exposure to a variety of topics, methods, and disciplinary perspectives – all in pertaining to contemporary Europe;
- Develop critical-academic attitude in regard to groundbreaking research on contemporary European affairs.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction:
- Colloquium is set as a lecture and discussion series;
- Colloquium shall meet 14 times throughout the academic year;
- While the Colloquium is open to all European Forum and HUJI community and guests, registered students must also adhere to required assignments (attendance and discussion essay).
Course/Module Content:

please take note: there will be only one assignment to be handed in due only at the end of semester b - before mid-august 2024
the final assignment is a discussion essay, analyzing lecture of student’s choice (individual task). The detailed instructions are posted in the Moodle.
