תאור כללי של הקורס:
תיאוריה פוסט-קולוניאליות החוקרת את ההשפעות של הקולוניזציה האירופית על החברות שהיא משועבדת, מתוך הכרה כי המאבקים התרבותיים והפוליטיים אשר הקולוניזציה הניעה ממשיכים להשפיע על ההווה. במרכזה, סוגיות כמו ההשפעה של השפות האירופאיות, מוסדותיה של אירופה, והאלימות הפיזית והאפיסטמולוגית שלה על החברות הקולוניאליות. המחווה המכונן של פוסטקולוניאליזם נעוץ בחשיפת הקשר בין מערכות ידע המערביות, כגון "האוריינטליזם" של אדווארד סעיד והתחזוקה של המאמץ האמפריאליסטי. כשיטה היסטוריוגרפית, פוסטקולוניאליזם ממקם את עצמו לצד המאבקים של כל מגזרי חברה קולוניאלית, הן עיליים ופופולריים, בבהרת התנגדות קולוניאלית.

מטרות הקורס:
מטרת הקורס היא להציג מושגים מרכזיים של התיאוריה הפוסט-קולוניאלי ולדון ההקשרים ההיסטוריים אשר הולידה אותם. ראו תיאור מפורט יותר באנגלית.

בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:

עם השלמת הקורס, התלמיד יוכל ליישם את הלקסיקון הפוסט-קולוניאלי לניתוח טקסטים ספרותיים וקולנועיים.
