תאור כללי של הקורס:
This course is intended to cover various sociological approaches to the study of work, from the conceptualization of work itself to the various factors that govern its daily dynamics and the hierarchies it establishes between people. While the various approaches we cover in this class vary significantly, they all share the premises (i) that work is a social activity whereby actors interact to produce economic value; (ii) that their interaction is organized through categories and positions (e.g. occupations); and (iii) the demographic content of these categories and the distribution of value-produced (extraction) is historically and social variable. These simple premises will take us very far.
