Course/Module description:
ever since 1968 and the waves of popular protest in Western Europe, the U.S. and elsewhere, the study of social movements and social protest, has become paramount, with ever-growing number of publications, specialized journals, book series, and research centers. As a seminar, we will get to know the major theories and approaches in the field, making sure to also know case studies from different parts of the globe.

Course/Module aims:
To strengthen the understanding, analysis, and familiarity of protest groups and events in and outside Israel.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
familiarity with basic texts in the study of social movements and social protest

tools to analyze instances of movements and social protests

Familiarity with instances of social movement and protest in and outside Israel.

Conducting research on a selected case study
