Course/Module description:
This course focuses on the description and diagnosis of eating disorders including anorexia nervosa, bulimia nervosa, and binge eating disorder. The course will present the etiology and risk factors for eating disorders. We will learn about the different psychotherapeutic approaches: dynamic, cognitive and integrative approaches. We will present additional central aspects of treatment: nutritional therapy and hospitalization.

Course/Module aims:
1. Teach the principal characteristics of eating disorders.
2. To understand the reasons for the development of eating disorders.
3. Familiarize the students with different approaches to the treatment of eating disorders.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. Students will be able to diagnose eating disorders.
2. Will be able to assess causes and risk factors to the development of eating disorders.
3. Will know how to recommend appropriate treatments for eating disorders.

Attendance requirements(%):
90% attendance

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Lectures and discussions in class of the reading material. Class dissertations. Discussion clinical cases.
