תאור כללי של הקורס:
כסטודנטים של תקשורת יש לנו עניין מיוחד בטכנולוגיות ובהסדרים החברתיים, הכלכליים והתרבותיים אשר מארגנים אותן. בקורס נתייחס למספר מושגים וסוגיות שעשויים לאתגר כמה תפיסות רווחות לגבי טכנולוגיה וחברה. מושגים וסוגיות אלו כוללים: דטרמיניזם טכנולוגי; אוטופיות ודיסטופיות טכנולוגית; הדיפוזיה של טכנולוגיות; טכנולוגיה וצרכים; טכנולוגיה, המדינה, קפיטליזם וכוח; טכנולוגיה ומגדר; ההקשר החברתי, הכלכלי התרבותי והפוליטי של התפתחותן והתפשטותן של טכנולוגיות חדשות; ומוגש הטכנולוגיה עצמו.

מטרות הקורס:
קורס זה יעניק לסטודנטים הכרות עם התיאורטיות המרכזיות שקשורות לטכנולוגיה, חברה, והקשר שביניהן, עם דגש על האינטרנט ומדיה חדשים.TBA

בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
