Syllabus - עדות ומדיה (50082)

תאור כללי של הקורס:
מה המשמעות של להיות עד לאירוע? מהי החשיבות המוסרית,ההיסטורית והתרבותית של העדות? מהן התמורות שחלו בעדות בעקבות השואה? מהן ההשלכות של הגבלת או מניעת האפשרות להפוך לעד? מה מקומה של הטכנולוגיה בעיצוב העדות? האם המדיה הופכים את כולנו לעדים? אלה הן השאלות שיועלו במהלך הקורס. לעדות היסטוריה עשירה בדת, משפט ואפילו במדע-אך גם נודעה לה רלוונטיות עכשווית בפילוסופיה, היסטוריה וספרות. המאה האחרונה חזתה בעלייתם של העד והעדות בעקבות טרגדיות ומלחמות, ובראשן השואה, אך גם בהתפתחויות טכנולוגיות אשר מגדירות מחדש את המשמעות והתוקף של להיות עד. הקורס יציב את העדות בין שני צירים אלה כפרקטיקה אשר מקפלת בתוכה כמה מהסוגיות והמתחים היסודיים של לימודי תקשורת ומדיה: יחסי הגומלין שבין חוויה לדיווח, נוכחות והיעדרות, ייצוג ומהימנות, אתיקה ואסתטיקה, עבר והווה. בחלק הראשון של הקורס נבחן את שיח העדות בעקבות השואה בהקשר המוסרי, התיאורטי וההיסטורי. בחלקו השני נתמקד במדיה של העדות, בארכיון כאתר של עדות וזיכרון, ובמקומם של המדיה בייצור, תיווך והפצה של עדויות.
