Course/Module description:  
The course will provide an overview of the History, legal, political, economic and social situation in East Jerusalem
 
 
Course/Module aims:  
To expose the students to current trends in the lives of East Jerusalem's residence, in order to better understand the complexities that characterize policy planning in Jerusalem
 
 
Learning outcomes -  On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:  
Deepening students' knowledge on current social, political and economic situation in East Jerusalem.
 Writing a relevant policy paper

 2. Policy research: How to write a policy paper
 3. Economy and employment in East Jerusalem: A background on the economical situation, the socio-economic status in the different neighborhoods of East Jerusalem, the employment rate, women employment, training and employment programs
 4.Schools. Education and higher education: The education system in East Jerusalem, data and trends
 5.Infrastructure and transportation
 6.Urban planning, land and housing in East Jerusalem
 7.Civil society and international organizations: civil society organizations that are operating in East Jerusalem and the involvement of international actors
 8.East Jerusalem in media coverage and social networks
 9.The governmental decision 3790: background, components and the operating mechanism
 10. Culture and leisure in East Jerusalem
 11.Community centers in East Jerusalem: role and challenges
 12.The separation wall and its influence on East Jerusalem
 13.A field tour A close look on the education system in East Jerusalem
