Course/Module description:
In the course we will define psychiatric disorders from different points of view – the clinical to the cinematic. We will get to know medical research on the topic, psychological theories and will watch films and TV series that portray people who suffer from mental illnesses.
We will adopt a critical approach on the representation of psychiatric disorders in films and TV.

Course/Module aims:
Understanding the characteristics of the different psychiatric disorders and how the culture defines them

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
