Course/Module description:
The course aims to familiarize students with a range of twentieth century British and American novels. We will engage with a wide spectrum of cultural and literary traditions from High Modernism to Postmodernism and examine the unique articulations of these developments within the genre.
Course/Module aims:
To introduce students to the primary texts and their social, cultural and historical contexts. To furnish students with tools of analysis and interpretation and to familiarize them with the aesthetic principles underlying the different stages of the novel´s evolution.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
An ability to critically analyze texts, to use secondary sources in textual analysis, to argue and support an informed interpretation.
