Course/Module description:
The course offers tools for writing academic papers in English: researching a topic, constructing an argument, providing evidence from primary and secondary sources, use of rhetorical devices and improving style. This course is mandatory for all students in the Department of English.

Course/Module aims:
The ultimate purpose is to prepare students for writing throughout their studies and beyond.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
By the end of the course, students will have the tools to write well-structured academic papers, including integration of secondary sources.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Frontal lecture and group work.

Course/Module Content:
The course begins with constructing arguments in the most general sense and gradually progresses towards writing papers of growing complexity, with an emphasis on analyzing literature -- poetry and prose.

All reading material will be uploaded to the course's Moodle site.
