Course/Module description:
Reading Akkadian commentaries, with emphasis on the relationship to the base texts, hermeneutical questions, and implications for the learning and study culture of ancient Mesopotamia

Course/Module aims:
to encounter the genre of commentaries
to learn about larger cultural questions such as canonization and scholasticism through the commentaries

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
to read commentaries, with emphasis on exegetical terminology and identification of the hermeneutical questions
