Course/Module description:
Much of the Earth’s surface is made up of transboundary basins. The shared nature of these water bodies has been a source of water conflicts in many places while fostering cooperation in others. The aim of the course is to demonstrate the effectiveness, efficiency and political feasibility of a wide-range of technological, legal, and institutional mechanisms to resolve transboundary water conflicts. In particular, the course will focus on the water conflicts between Israel and its Arab neighbors. Students will encounter approaches for addressing water conflicts while accommodating climate and political uncertainty.
