Course/Module description:
The course will explore and present the history of the mapping of the Holy Land and its development. During the course the contexts of the map making will be also discussed.

Course/Module aims:
The aim of the course is to present the history of the mapping of the Holy Land and its development and to analyze the general contexts (cultural, religious and social) that influenced the compilation of the maps.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Knowledge of antique maps, knowledge of the processes behind this maps. The ability to analyze maps as multi-layer documents for information and messages.

Attendance requirements(%):
75% + 2 half day field trips

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Lecture, exercise, reading, visits to collections.
