Course/Module description:
Topics to be discussed in the course are geopolitics,
Imperialism, Territorialism. National state, the global system
Political world Geography of elections and basic aspects of Geography
Urban politics.
Course/Module aims:
Provide tools and knowledge in strategic thinking and geopolitics risks in the global and local geography
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
-Identify a number of key figures in debates concerning geopolitical theories and strategies
-Understand a number of the main issues of potential geopolitical conflict in the 21st century
-Analyze the geopolitical options open to several world countries
-Evaluate the material, ethical and political dimensions open to individual states
-Work through empirical examples of interconnections between people, places and space
