Course/Module description:
The course is meant to expand the knowledge and familiarity with statistical terms & models, emphasizing applying statistical tests to analyze data, using the SPSS program. A brief theoretical background will be given to each tool & test, as well as learning how to apply the test using SPSS.

Course/Module aims:
To help the students to
acquire skills that enable them to perform basic statistical analysis of data

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1.To learn to oraganize a data base for ststistical analysis.
2.To understand how to choose the appropriate statistical test for analyzing variables in the data.
3.To learn to use statistical tests using SPSS.
4. to learn to summarize the statistical analysis & draw conclusions.

Attendance requirements(%):

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Lectures and exercises applying SPSS

Course/Module Content:
1. Creating a data base in SPSS, including creating new variables.
2. Descriptive statistics methods including graphs, using SPSS.
3. Correlation coefficient, simple/multiple linear regression
4. t-test: 1-sample, 2-samples, paired
5. ANOVA
6. Chi-square test, Fisher's exact test
7. Logistic regression
8. Non-parametric tests

Grading Scheme :
Written Exam % 100

Additional information:
The score of the final exam is the cousrse's score.
Conditions for being able to take the exam: submitting 75% of exercises given during the course, and handing in of a midterm exercise.
The book which is (very)recommended as reading material is not mandatory
