תאור כללי של הקורס:
הסמינר המחקרי עוסק בהיסטוריה של המיניות מהעת העתיקה ועד שלהי המאה העשרים, תוך שימת דגש מיוחד על ימי הביניים המאוחרים והעת החדשה המוקדמת. חקר ההיסטוריה של המיניות החל, למעשה, בשנות הששים והשבעים של המאה העשרים, והושפע ישירות מהתפתחות התנועות הפוליטיות של הרבע האחרון של המאה הקודמת: התנועה לזכויות האשה, Gay Liberation, ובהמשך Queer Theory. בחרתי להתמקד בנקודות מפנה חשובות במיוחד בהיסטוריה של המיניות המערבית, כשהדיון בנוי בשני צירים בו זמנית: ציר כרונולוגי וציר תמטי.
