Course/Module description:
This course will survey some crucial points in the history of England under William the Conqueror (1066-1087). Among the topic that we shall discuss are: the Anglo-Saxon kingdoms and the Duchy of Normandy before 1066; the Battle of Hastings; the Norman government of William I; the “Domesday Book”; the Anglo-Norman Church; culture and religion in Anglo-Norman England.

Course/Module aims:
Experimenting with reading and understanding primary sources from medieval England.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Some ability to read and understand primary sources from the Middle Ages.

The course is open only to students who had passed the Introductory course to the Middle Ages.

The final exam will be an online exam from home.
