Course/Module description:
Israel in the Middle East or Israel and the Middle East? The answer to this question reflects two differing perceptions of Israel's place in the region. This course will analyze this role as reflected in the leaders' images and political conduct in several historical case studies.

Course/Module aims:
Advanced course, which aims at introducing the historical and political debate regarding Israel's role and place in the region.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The student will learn to the various approaches to the subject matter; learn several historical case studies; will learn to see the forest for the trees; to formulate his arguments in a clear way; to evaluate and compare between events and processes across the time; and begin to offer a critical view of the academic literature.
