תאור כללי של הקורס:
החל מהעשורים האחרונים של המאה התשע עשרה, החלה האצה בתנועה הגלובלית של אנשים, רעיונות וסחורות. הקורס יבחן את ההשלכות של תהליכים אלה על המזרח התיכון וצפון אפריקה.
מטרות הקורס:
הבנת התהליכים הגלובלים שעיצבו את פניו של המזרח התיכון במפנה המאה העשרים.
תוצרי למידה :
בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
מיפוי מעבר של אנשים, רעיונות וסחורות אל המזרח התיכון, ממנו ובתוכו;
הבנת היסטוריה מקומית-איזורית בהקשרה הגלובלי.

בני אדם בתנועה: על מסמכי מעבר, רשתות אימפריאליות, קהילות אירופאיות בצפון אפריקה, והגירת נשים לזנות
חפצים בתנועה: טכנולוגיות קטנות, סמים קלים, פירות יבשים ואפילו בעלי חיים.
ורעיונות בתנועה: דפוס, רעיונות פמיניסטיים, רעיונות רדיקליים ורעיונות אסלאמיים.
