Course/Module description:
The history of the Palestinian issue during the 20th and 21st centuries and the rise of the Islamic movement in the Palestinian arena since the eighties of the 20th century + a study of the prominent Islamic factions- PIJ and Hamas- ideological and practical aspects.
Course/Module aims:
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Understand the historic background of Palestinian "Muqawama".
Learn about the prominent Islamic factions of the Palestinian arena.
Analyze ideoligical and practical aspects.
Demonstrate fundamental ideas.
Recognize central figures of the Palestinian "Muqawama".

Historic discussions; oral presentation (optional) and frontal lectures.
Course/Module Content:
Resistance: roots and features.
Operation Cast Lead - 2008/ Palestinian "Muqawama".
Basic history of the Palestinian issue 1936-1964.
The "Spark"- December 1987 and the rise of the Islamic factions.
PIJ- definite extremism of the Palestinian arena.
Hamas between the charter of 1988 and the political program of 2017.
