Course/Module description:
The Middle East underwent many changes since the Arab Spring, the Corona epidemic and the war in Gaza. In spite of the short historical perspective, This course will atempt to analyze and assess the results and repercussions of these events on the Middle East in general and on particular states in particular. The course will deal with questions of identity, legitimacy, stability, economy and other factors that affected the Middle Eastern states.
Course/Module aims:
The aim of this course is to acquaint the students with the main actors operations during the war and their interests. In addition, the aim is to understand the repercussions of the war on Israel. In such a way, the students will be able to recognize patterns of continuity and change in the Middle East.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The student will recognize the the relevant approaches to studying the contemporary Middle East; learn several major histoical cases; learn to appreciate the importance of the spidoes while comparing between the case studies; learn to be critical of the academic literature and be able to sparate between useful information and fake news.
