Course/Module description:
In this course, we will address distinct legal issues in the field of education from a child rights-based perspective. The course will provide both knowledge and practical tools for understanding the key legal arrangements that shape the education system in various matters related to children. Throughout the course, we will examine not only the significant role of the law, but also its limitations, in educational settings, analyze the challenges related to its 'on-the-ground' implementation, and delve into the meaning of children's rights in diverse educational contexts.
Course/Module aims:
The course aims to equip students with the ability to identify and analyze legal issues in everyday educational practice, while gaining a deeper understanding of potential dilemmas.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Identifying legal issues in educational practice at schools, with an emphasis on children's rights. Providing a basic analysis of aspects related to rights, duties, powers, and responsibilities.
