Course/Module description:
The course will present the main theories regarding consultation in general and in the educational context in particular. We will try to understand why it is so common among school counselors and psychologists. Consultation will be regarded as central to the processes leaded by mental-health professionals working at educational institutions from an organizational perspective. We will describe, analyze and practice the main consultation skills.
Course/Module aims:
To teach the students central theories regarding consultation and the relevance to educational settings.
To discuss its singularity as a component in organizational counseling.
To identify and understand the different considerations and the specific skills needed for providing effective consultation that is also cultural sensitive.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The student will know central theories and models regarding consultation.. .
The student will know the different component of consultation especially regarding its implementation in educational institutions and the considerations involved in the process.
The students will practice skills relevant to organizational consultation and will write a report that analyses the processes.
