Course/Module description:
The course introduces the students to basic concepts and theories of educational philosophy. It provides the studnets with analytic tools and basic knowledge of key normatives theories in education. It deal with subjects such human nature, the educated person, indoctrination and with the educational writtings of thinkers such as Palto, Rousseau, Dewey, Neill, Freire and others
Course/Module aims:
The introduce to the students the realm of educational philosophy. To acquaint them with the major thinkers in the field. To lay the foundations for developing a philosophical way of thinking.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
to understand the philosophical prespective, to have basic knowledge of the theories of key educational thinkiers, to critically examine educational ideals, to start and develop one's own beleifs regarding education

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction:
Lectures plus lessons in smaller groups in which text are read together and discussed.
