Course/Module description:
In this workshop trainees are getting acquainted with the four basic skills of language acquisition: writing' reading,speaking, listening. The trainees get a general knowledge of the linguistic materials needed for Hebrew teaching.
Course/Module aims:
The course main goal is to enable the trainees to teach Hebrew in Ulpan classes in Israel and abroad. The students will become aware of the differences between first language and second language acquisition.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The students will be able to plan Hebrew lessons for beginners and for advanced levels. they will combine various teaching strategies in order to create meaningful assignments and enjoyable meeting with the Hebrew language in a cultural context.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction:
weekly meetings during the whole year. two parts for each meeting:
trainees teach their colleagues. second part: studing new materials both theoretical and practical aspects.

- vocabulary - teaching new words and practice in various levels.
- texts - teaching texts for different levels (beginners and advanced)' different genres and various methods.
- syntax - main issues - theoretically and practically.
- Morphology - main issues - both theoretically and practically.
- using the newspapers in Hebrew classes.
- songs teaching in language classes.
- interweaving various skills and different materials into a whole meaningful and interesting unit.
