Course/Module description:
The course examines different pedagogical, social and political issues regarding school history in Israel and in other countries worldwide. During the course, we will get to know the dilemmas that face teachers and others who deals with school history.

Course/Module aims:
1. Develop a personal and independent stand towards history education
2. Knowing and Understanding the changes, challenges and the consequences of history education for the students and the society
3. Develop a critical perspective on the teaching and learning of school history

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. Analyze and evaluate school history curriculums from different perspectives
2. Articulate an epistemic and moral stand about school history teaching
3. Design an adjusted curriculum that is based both on the national curriculum and requirements and on the students moral and pedagogical aims in teaching history.

3. Different moral and social approaches towards school history
4. School history and the political arena in Israel and other countries
5. Case studies from the national curriculum
