Course/Module description:
This workshop accompanies the student’s practical teaching experience during the year.
Course/Module aims:
1. To lay the basis for teaching Civics in High Schools
2. To learn class management and how to create a positive learning environment
3. To examine adolescence from theoretical and practical perspectives
4. To foster group dialogue as a goal in itself and as a basis for effective team work
5. Gain close familiarity with the daily workings of the school system
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. Be able to prepare lesson plans in Civics at multiple cognitive skill levels
2. Be able to guide pupils in the process of writing projects
3. Apply modes of evaluation
4. Practice the basics of classroom management
5. Have experienced the complexities of school management

Workshops, lectures, group work, viewing and analyzing videos of model teaching, viewing colleague’s teaching.
