Course/Module description:
Practicum: Two weekly hours of on-site classroom teaching of Civics at a High School (HS/jh) together with guiding HS pupils Students in the course will function as full HS teachers of Civics with the concomitant responsibilities of accredited in-class teachers (including examinations, grades, etc.).
During the year, students will meet with the school’s administrators, as well as primary classroom educators, grade coordinators, and school Civics coordinator. Students shall participate in general school activities such as: professional meetings, meetings with parents and will occasionally take part in school events such as memorial days, etc.

Course/Module aims:

1. Students will be able to plan and to teach course sessions, to identify challenges in teaching Civics and to deal with them.
2. Students will be able to guide pupils in writing their projects.
3. Students will begin to accustom themselves to daily life in a school environment


Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
At the end of the course students will have:
1. Understood the challenges of teaching Civics by having experienced them in classroom situations;
2. Experienced and applied class management techniques;
3. Become involved in daily issues of school management and its complexities.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: observing in ninth and tenth grade classes at the Jerusalem Boyer high school with on-site guidance.
