Course/Module description:
Much has been said and written about the educational crises in postmodernism. In the course we will try to get to know the cultural phenomenon
and the philosophy of postmodernism, and to understand how this era challenges education in many ways: by challenging the justification of goals
education and the curricula, the undermining of the foundation of the learned knowledge, the inadequacy of the teaching methods, and the loss of legitimacy
of the traditional educational authority. In the third and main part of the course we will examine different approaches and ways of dealing with
The identified challenges, among them ways that seek to withstand the burst and protect education from the postmodern threat, others that try
to change education and adapt it to the postmodern characteristics of reality, and among those seeking to adopt tools
postmodern to strengthen modernist values

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1 To characterize postmodernity as a cultural phenomenon, and postmodernism as a philosophical approach.
2. To explain the challenges that postmodernism poses to education.
3. To discuss different ways of dealing with the postmodern challenge of educators.
4. To formulate and express an independent position regarding the postmodern challenge and regarding the educational ways of dealing with it.
