Course/Module description:
This course is a linguistic introduction of modern Spanish, which includes its most elementary structures and the standard principles of normative spelling (according to the RAE). Reading written texts, especially journalistic and literary, with an intermediate degree of difficulty, and the writing of summaries are part of the course's tasks.
Course/Module aims:
Acquisition of skills by students to deal with texts in Spanish, understand and summarize them, and improve their skills in writing.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
• Understand texts of intermediate difficulty.
• Write texts in Spanish whose reading will be orderly, clear, and coherent.
• Identify the common morphological forms as well as some syntactic patterns.
