Course/Module description:
Reading Ladino texts of different types and periods that reflect the life of Sephardic Jews․

Course/Module aims:
To impart the skills required to read Ladino texts from different places, periods, genres and styles, in Hebrew and Latin alphabets, printed and handwritten, that reflect the life of the Jews in their communities.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. To read Ladino texts in Hebrew and Latin script with greater eloquence
2. To decipher manuscripts in Solitreo - the traditional Jewish-Spanish script
3. To evaluate aspects of the life of the Sephardic Jews in their communities as they are reflected in the texts
