Course/Module description:
The course will examine basic topics in the history of the Russian Empire in the 18th century: reforms of Peter the Great and their fate, entrance of foreigners into Russia and "rule of Germans", opening of Russia to the West, Russia on the international stage, economy, society, culture, the "women's rule", the "enlightened absolutism" and the beginning of the enlightenment movement

Course/Module aims:
To provide to the students a basic knowledge on the history of Russian Empire in the 18th century.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
To acquire basic historical problems of 18th century Russia.

Attendance requirements(%):
100%

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Discussion with the students on a basis of scholarly literature and primary sources.
