Course/Module description:
An analysis of everyday and holiday life among the Sephardim of the Ottoman Empire and its successor states through the reading of Ladino (Judezmo) texts from newspapers and books. The course will be preceded and accompanied by an introduction to the principles of Ladino orthography.

Course/Module aims:
To impart the skills needed to read Ladino texts reflecting the life of Ladino speakers in the language Ottoman Empire and its successor states.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
