Course/Module description:
The course surveys the uses of Hebrew since the decline of its vernacular use in the ancient period and examines the processes of revitalization in the Modern period

Course/Module aims:
Familiarity with various written genres of Hebrew during the Medieval period and with the formation processes of Modern Hebrew.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Identify the main genres of written Hebrew during the Medieval period and analyze their main linguistic features.
Describe the main processes of the formation of written and spoken Modern Hebrew.
