תאור כללי של הקורס:
נלמד על מאפייני המחשבה הדתית במצרים העתיקה, נסקור את סיפורי הבריאה העיקריים, את מיתוס המלוכה ואת מיתוס הכחדת האנושות. עוד נלמד על האמונה בקיום שלאחר המוות ועל הקשר בין לידה, קבורה וזריחת השמש.

מטרות הקורס:
להפגיש את התלמידים עם המיתוסים העיקריים של מצרים העתיקה ועם יסודות המחשבה הדתית שלה, ולהציג תפישות של קיום לאחר המוות ואת היחסים בין החיים למתים.

תוצרי למידה :
בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
למנות את המיתוסים העיקריים של מצרים העתיקה.
לעקוב אחר התפתחותם של רעיונות דתיים מרכזיים.
לזהות סמלים בעלי משמעות דתית באמנות המצרית.
לקרוא ולהבין טקסטים מצריים נבחרים בתרגום.
לתאר סצינות בעלות משמעות דתית באמנות המצרית.
לעמוד על תפקידו המורכב של המלך המצרי בהחלת הסדר הקוסמי (מאעת)
