Course/Module description:
Orchestra experience for students in Musicology and all other Faculties. Rehearsals take place on the Givat Ram Campus at Beit Bretter on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-10:00 pm.
Additional rehearsals are scheduled before performances.

Course/Module aims:
To enrich students' musicianship as performers and to give Hebrew University students opportunity to attend concerts as audience.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Play their chosen instrument at a higher level, understand composers works more profoundly and meet other students in the course with similar musical ambitions.

Attendance requirements(%):
Active workshop, full attendance.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Conductor, Anita Kamien, holds auditions for acceptance to the orchestra. For audition, please write to kamien@netvision.net.il Conductor works closely with each section of the orchestra and with students individually. The goal is to achieve a new level of esthetic and musical understanding for each student musician as participant and even as soloist.

Practice reading their parts and the scores.

The orchestra gives three concerts a year. There are “Meet the Orchestra – Concerto Festival” concerts featuring soloists who are members of the orchestra playing movements of concertos.
The Hebrew University Orchestra performs the Annual Harman Memorial Concert in the Jerusalem Theatre.
