Course/Module description:
Reading the hieroglyphic script; principles of Middle Egyptian language studied through documents of various literary genres.

Course/Module aims:
Acquiring the elementary rules of the Egyptian hieroglyphic system and Middle Egyptian grammar.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The class will enable the students to tackle elementary Egyptian texts in hieroglyphs.

Attendance requirements(%):
100%

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: Frontal class, students will have to prepare weekly assignments and to take part in reading and discussions in class.
