תאור כללי של הקורס:
940 מגילות נתגלו במערות קומראן במדבר יהודה. מגילות קומראן כוללות בין היתר כתבי-יד מקראיים, ספרים חיצוניים, אפוקליפסות, ספרות חכמה, מזמורים ותפילות, וחיבורים כיתתיים מסוגים שונים. הקורס יעסוק במגוון רחב של חיבורים כיתתיים ולא-כיתתיים שנתגלו בקומראן ובשאלות המחקר העיקריות כגון, ההתפתחויות הספרותיות, הרעיוניות, והחברתיות, ייחודיותה של הכת, והמסורות המשותפות לכת ולקבוצות אחרות בימי הבית השני.

מטרות הקורס:
1. להכיר את קורפוס של מגילות קומראן והביבליוגרפיה המחקרית.
2. לרכוש את המיומנות לקרוא מגילות בלשונם העברית המיוחדת.
3. להבחין במונים, ברעיונות, ובחוקים הכיתתיים.
4. להבחין במסורות המשותפות לכת ולקבוצות אחרות.

תוצרי למידה :
בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
1. להכיר את קורפוס של מגילות קומראן והביבליוגרפיה המחקרית.

שיטת ההוראה בקורס: הקורס יועבר ע"י פרופ' אסתר חזון וד"ר מיכאל ג'ונסון. יהיו הרצאות על הנושא הנלמד, עיון מעמיק במגילות העוסקות בנושא, קריאה ביקורתית של ספרות המחקר. קריאה צמודה והסבר של הטקסטים הנלמדים ע"י התלמידים.
