Course/Module description:
Study of apocalyptic literature written during the Second Temple and post-Temple destruction periods.

Course/Module aims:
To examine apocalyptic thought and apocalyptic literature in the various socio-historical contexts.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
1. To define the genre of apocalypse and the apocalyptic worldview.
2. To identify both common traditions and unique features of the apocalypses.
3. To gain training in reading Second Temple period literature.
