Course/Module description:
Reading of various prose and poetry works that focus on animal from a compassionate perspective.

Course/Module aims:

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
To read more sensitively the representations of animals in prose and poetry; to reexamine their relationships with animal outside of literature.

Course/Module Content:
Animals in Japanese Haiku, Man and animal in naturalist writing, Buber's I & You and animals, Bible animals, animals in apocryphal Jewish Literature, animals in modern Hebrew poetry.
