Belief has a central role in our lives. The way we act or speak depends on what we believe. Belief is also a key concept in epistemology. Knowledge is usually analyzed as a particular kind of belief. But what is belief exactly? What kind of mental state is it? The answer, it turns out, isn't so simple.
