Course/Module description:
The course relies on post-colonial theory in order to show the complexity and triangular nature of the relations between Jews, Christians and "Pagans" during the time when the Roman Empire turned Christian.
Course/Module aims:
The course aims at providing the students with the academic tools to appreciate texts in their cultural and political context, with emphasis on the intense relations between the different groups, which are usually overlooked.
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
The students will be familiar with the variety of sources, able to interpret them in their cultural context and in light of post-colonial theory.
