Course/Module description:
We will study different patterns of Jewish resistance and resistance by Jews, both in Eastern Europe and in the Western parts. We'll discuss the problematics of terminology (Resistance, armed resistance etc.). We'll check into the scopes of Jewish resistance, and the chances of survival in each one of the forms.

Course/Module aims:
To understand the complexity of the term "Resistance", to know the different forms of resistance during the Holocaust, to analyze critically, the historiography and public discourse on the topic and the different stories. To understand what factors influenced in different countries the possibility to organize resistance in it's different forms.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
To examine the complexity of the term "Resistance", in it's different forms, to compare between Jewish underground activity in different countries, differentiate between different forms of resistance during the Holocaust, to explain the different factors that influenced the possibilities of resistance in different countries, to analyze and criticize the different historical approaches on the topic
