תאור כללי של הקורס:
This is an introductory course for students who seek an understanding of the impact of the actions and foreign policy of the rulers of Russia in the Middle East in general and in the land of Israel, in particular.

We will study the continuity and changes in the ideologies and policies of Russia’s regimes in this region as it transitioned from an imperial autocracy to a revolutionary socialist state in 1917 and then, as of 1991, to a partial democracy.

מטרות הקורס:
מטרת הקורס תהיה רכישת הבנה רחבה יותר על התקופה ושיפור כלי הניתוח בהתמודדות עם הספרות המקצועית. כמו כן, נבחן את הקשר בין האירועים ההיסטוריים ובין הזיכרון הקולקטיבי היום בזירה הציבורית והפוליטית.

תוצרי למידה :
בסיומו של קורס זה, סטודנטים יהיו מסוגלים:
להשוות בין ההצגה של אירועים היסטוריים בכתיבה מחקרית ובין הצגת האירועים ביזכרון הקולקטיבי.

לבחון מגמות ארוכות-טווח בכתיבה מחקרית והגורמים לתמורות בה.

לחשוב באופן ניתוחי אודות זיקות בין אירועים היסטוריים ובין ההתפתות הכללית בפרשנויות היסטוריות על האירועים האלה.

להעריך פרשנויות על
לבנות ניתוחים מקוריים על שאלות היסטוריות בעזרת גישות רב-דיסציפלינאריות.

לשלב חומרים מהסילבוס של הקורס, וחומרי מחקר נוספים, יחד עם חומר הנלמד בשיעורים, כדי לתמוך בניתוחים היסטוריים מקוריים.

לרכוש יכולת ניתוח של מסמכים ראשוניים מהתקופה
