Course/Module description:
What was it like to live as a Jew in Ottoman Jerusalem? The sijil documents are the most likely to provide an answer to that question. During the semester we will be reading together an assortment of documents (relating to various subjects) that were translated to Hebrew by Prof. Amnon Cohen and others.
