Course/Module description:
The course will be devoted to categorization of folklore into genres - narratives as well as other types of folklore. The course will also deal with folk-genre theory.
Course/Module aims:
Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
identify folk-genres
explain the characteristics of different genres
understand the difficulties in defining genre in folklore
address questions in genre theory
analyse folk-narratives by genre categorization
