Course/Module description:
The course covers basic concepts and questions in morphological analysis: morphemes and allomorphy, inflection and derivation, paradigms, and the interaction between morphology and other components and different levels of analysis in a linguistic system.

Course/Module aims:
The course teaches students to detect, describe, and analyze morphological patterns in a wide variety of languages, with special attention to Semitic morphology.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
* Detect morphological patterns in language data
* Describe morphological phenomena in a wide variety of languages using appropriate linguistic terminology
* Search and find relevant research materials in morphology
* Distill from the literature descriptions of morphological phenomena
