Course/Module description:
One part of the course focuses on reading of various contemporary texts (literature, philosophy, journalistic articles, etc.), films and sketches. There is als a significant focus on grammar.

Course/Module aims:
Developing capacities to read stories, poems,academic and other articles in French.
Developing oral and written skills.
Learnig to summarize texts and express an opinion in French.

Learning outcomes - On successful completion of this module, students should be able to:
Students should be capable of reading and understanding texts on various levels.
To some extent, they will be able to carry on basic conversation and communicate in writing.

Teaching arrangement and method of instruction: We will concentrate on 10 subjects, each of which will be presented thorugh a variety of texts and viewpoints (literary, philosophical, artistic, films, etc.).
Grammatical skills will be acquired through frontal exercises as well as through texts, which offer a broader context for the grammatical forms.

Course/Module Content:
Texts: ecology, love relations, education, social relations, the other, woman, evil, the domestic space, culture, gastronomy.
Grammar: use of all articles and pronouns, tenses and modes. Syntax. PAssive and active voices. Direct and indrect speech.

Required Reading:
Reading of texts in the course book + grammatical exercises.
